Sewing for babies

There are five, yes -- five, women in my Bible study pregnant right now! AND - all five of them are expecting baby girls soon! I suppose it's not all that weird considering we are a "20-somethings" group -- excellent child bearing ages and all.
Here's some of the baby gifts I've been making recently. Tomorrow is our cravings themed dinner night in honor of these girls...I'll post pictures of that later this week.
Some super cute burp cloths! I attached the fabric with fusible interfacing first, then did various decorative stitches along the edges. For the monogrammed one, I used a satin stitch (zig-zag stitch set to shortest length).
I made this sweet baby girl skirt and headband from left over t-shirt scraps!
Close up of some of the onsies. Ruffle bums, appliques and tuxedo style ruffles!
These will be some stylin' little girls!

  11. these are so cute! Do you want to hear something funny??? When I saw the title of your blog, "Sewing for Babies" I thought it meant sewing for beginners! LOL! I've been wanting to learn to sew so I was so excited, haha! But, none the less, very cute idea:) I love your blog too. I would love for you to stop by my new blog. I have some cute, easy and cheap ideas for home decor. I'm new to blogging, but have been following blogs for quite some time. I look forward to all your entries!
